Venator athlete, Tewelde MENGES was privileged to take to the start line with some of the finest marathon runners from around the globe on Sunday 26th April 2026.

The winner (Sebastian Sawe KEN), set new standards in the marathon with the first Sub 2 win in history. Menges went out in group 3 (2:06 pace!), but learnt a lot about the marathon after crossing the line in 2:10:48. Tewelde has a best of 2:10:00 from December 2025 in Valencia

• 1st: Sabastian Sawe (KEN) – 1:59:30 (World Record, first sub-2-hour marathon under record-eligible conditions)
• 2nd: Yomif Kejelcha (ETH) – 1:59:41 (marathon debut – second sub-2-hour marathon under record-eligible conditions)
• 3rd: Jacob Kiplimo (UGA) – 2:00:28 (inside the old WR!!!)
• 19th: Tewelde Menges (GBR) – 2:10:48 (6th GBR athlete)
